Your guide to achieving Seamless alterations...

WHEN TO SCHEDULE AN APPOINTMENT?

Schedule Early: Popular seamstresses book up months in advance, so secure your spot as soon as possible after purchasing your dress.  You don't need to have your dress in hand to secure a spot on our calendar. An appointment scheduled less than 8 weeks prior to your wedding day may not always be accommodated and might be subject to a rush fee of $100 or more.

HOW MUCH DO WEDDING ALTERATIONS COST?

There is no minimum or maximum cost for alterations. Most brides will require adjustments like hemming, taking in the bodice, adjusting straps. On average, brides can expect to spend anywhere from $400 to $800 on these basic alterations. For more extensive work, like restructuring the dress, resizing by more than 1 size, multiple layers, lace, beading, custom corset, the cost will significantly increase, and alterations can add up to another 50%-100% of your dress budget.

Wedding dress alterations are often an overlooked expense, but they’re essential to ensuring your gown fits perfectly and feels comfortable on your big day.

HOW CAN I SAVE ON ALTERATIONS?

1. Buy a dress in your size: Choose a dress as close to your size as possible. The fewer alterations needed, the lower the cost.

2. Consider buying the right heel height instead of getting your dress hemmed.

3. Think about a dress with a corset back:  This design allows you to easily adjust the fit by tightening or loosening the laces, ensuring a perfect fit in all the right areas. Not only does it beautifully contour to your curves, but it can also save you a significant amount on alterations.

4. Avoid overly detailed designs: Dresses with intricate beading, lace, or layers are more expensive to alter.

5. Start early: Last-minute alterations can incur rush fees.

6. Focus on essential alterations like hemming or adjusting the bodice instead of optional customizations.

7. Maintain Body Measurements: Try to maintain your weight after being pinned during the fitting to avoid unexpected changes to the fit.

WHAT SHOULD I BRING TO MY FITTING?

1. Any undergarments you plan to wear on your wedding day: bra, shapewear, corset, tape, etc.

2. Bring the exact shoes you'll wear on your special day.

3. Bring any add-ons you want to include, such as a belt, sash, or extra lace.

4. Hair clip/hair tie

5. And, of course, your wedding dress.

⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐“I loved my experience here!! She listened to all my concerns and gave me helpful suggestions/options to make my dress even better. We had decided to change the straps at my second fitting and you can’t even tell the new straps weren’t part of my dress originally. She got my dress done right on time and it looks and fits amazing!! I can’t wait to wear it at my wedding☺️.”-Abagale P.
